About Blue Gem patterns

Classic Knife Case Hardened carries the marbled steel finish on a broad, flat blade. The seed decides how much deep blue lands on the play side; the rare blue-dominant rolls are the Blue Gems.

Seed #403 is the undisputed #1 — the community places it in a tier of its own above Tier 1, a near-fully-blue play side that has sold for around $20k. The rest of Tier 1 (#58, #169, #281, #316, #456, #577, #681 …) are the next-best blue rolls. (Classic, Skeleton, Survival and Paracord all peak at #403 — they share near-identical Case Hardened geometry.)

01T1Tier 1 — Best patterns

What makes a T1

The best patterns in this skin. Tightest symmetry, deepest coverage, and the visual hallmarks that separate top-shelf examples from everything else.

What makes a T2

Very strong patterns — close to T1 quality but with one or two visual compromises (off-axis tip, slightly less coverage, or a less symmetric back).

What makes a T3

Above-average patterns. Recognisable as "good" but with a clear weakness compared to T1/T2 — useful for buyers who want a hint of pattern premium without paying T1 prices.

What makes a T4

The lower end of curated patterns. Still better than a random unranked roll, but the visual differentiator is subtle.

Everything else — Unranked

The remaining ~841 paint_seeds fall outside the curated tiers. They make up the bulk of Phase 1 supply on every marketplace and don’t carry a pattern premium — what you see is what you get, like the baseline reference we used at the top of this guide. If a seed isn’t listed in T1–T4 or BTA above, treat it as Unranked.
