Every ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Phase 1 · Max Blue Tip has the same paint_index — but the pattern seed (0–999) controls exactly how the dye lands on the blade. Two listings can have the same wear and float but look dramatically different.
The cards below compare a typical Unranked roll (seed #788) against the Tier-1 hero we picked (seed #757). Same skin, same phase, same wear band — pattern is the only difference.

About Max Blue Tip patterns
Phase 1 on the Butterfly Knife carries the standard Doppler metallic smoke base — translucent wavy lines with dark blue, purple, and pink gradients. The handle stays unpainted and is complemented with red inserts; the dual-blade construction means the pattern is visible from both faces when butterfly-flipped.
The Max Blue Tip family covers patterns where the blade tip carries no pink at all, leaving the cool blue/purple gradient running to the apex. Tier 1 specimens are notably rare on the Butterfly because the long blade gives the gradient more area to land badly.

The best patterns in this skin. Tightest symmetry, deepest coverage, and the visual hallmarks that separate top-shelf examples from everything else.

They make up the bulk of Phase 1 supply on every marketplace and don’t carry a pattern premium — what you see is what you get, like the baseline reference (seed #788) we used at the top of this guide. If a seed isn’t listed in T1–T4 or BTA above, treat it as Unranked.
